are these tires worth $750?

Okay so ive been talking to this guy about buying his saleen rims +wheels. he sent me these pics and there is some cracking on the rear tires, and the fronts must be replaced. he says the fronts are fine, but the pictures with the very low tread tires, thats the fronts.

is this kind of cracking bad? i asked les shwab and they said its the tread starting to separate from the sidewall.

just want to know if this deal is even worth it or if all 4 tires are trash. thanks to all that help.

basically, since i know i can get rims for about 500, are these tires worth the extra 250? or should that be put toward all new tires.

Fuck no those tires aren't worth the extra 250. I might offer him 100 for all 4...if I was feeling generous. Wheels are just damn sexy though.

yeah i might try 600 for the whole set. i really want a staggered setup. theres a guy with a 18x9 four wheels set for 400 down in santa barbera too.

but like i said, i want staggered.

for all new black saleen rims and tires, is 1400 bucks too much? i guess it depends on the tire. which im wanting a nice tire. no cheap ones for me. gotta call that guy up and see if he will do less than 500 for the rims.

Yeah forget the tires. If the fronts for sure need to be replaced and the rears are cracking like that, I wouldn't pay shit for the tires.

yeah id keep looking. I got some fr's with brand new tires on the front and some dr's on the back with about 75% tread left for $450. Absolutely no curb rash or scratches of any kind and when i say new i mean blue stripe was still on them. lol. deals are out there just keep looking. check out corral.net

i've been looking for months though. out here in cali these rims only come around once in a blue moon. my best bet is going to be buying brand new unless one of these guys wants to lower their prices like crazy.

Just as another reference I bought a set of chrome 18 inch saleens (staggared) with bfgforce tires that were all basically junk for $400 bucks and sold them for $420 about a month ago. I would say $500 max rims and tires if you really want them or you could get a brand new set for probably like $1200 on AM or LMR

yeah im going to get those same bf goodrich g force tda W's on the new set that ive just decided im going to get. they have good reviews on tirerack.com and i'm fine paying that much for a brand new set, that was my original budget anyway, getting these cheaper was just a shot in the dark.

he thinks the wheels are super expensive. i doubt he will go under 600. and i can get brand new rims for 560 from AM. so unless he does like 500 or 400. its a no deal.
