Is it performing different? Just my honest opinion, but until something feels different, then I would consider switching.. But if everything seems hunky dory and nothing different, wouldnt see why you would need to change.

...but to be safe, you can. Id also rather be safe than sorry. =]

Go for it. In that case, if it acts different, then go back to what you originally used.

maybe step up to 15 - 40. or the grand daddy of them all 20 - 50.

in FL there is no point using anything less than 15 - 40 except that it says it on the oil cap. what's going to be important is that you don't do any of that Lucas crap. i can get into the explination as to why but instead why not go here

www.bobistheoilguy.com

Bob will tell you why not to.

5 - 30 would actually be thiner. btw

if you read the site there is a reason not to use it.

oil is created with an ammount of anti-oxygenating properties (anti-bubble)

when you add the lucas the ammount of liquid to anti-bubbles is changed and more bubbles are created... more bubbles makes more air, more air means less lube less lube means more heat, so on and so forth.

high mileage stuff really doesn't make much of a difference, it just means they use different detergents in the oil. the key is to keep using the type of oil you have always used, and change it every 3 - 5K depending on driving style, i don't care if the oil is good for 15K, your car doesn't like it in there that long. you really want to extend the life of your motor add an oil cooler.

just my .02

yes but his tests are in conclusive and il tell you why, #1 lack of engine operating temperature simulation. and #2 his testing base allows more air into the system then a regular engine would if his tests were 100% true then when i checked my oil after operating the engine it would appear frothy and foamy on the dipstick. which it does not. also if his tests were 100% conclusive that would ruin any engine in a matter of minutes if the oil stabilizer infact did that under engine operating range. and im glad to say i donot have metal shavings, never had i have a oil pan plug with a magnet, have not found any on there and i have cut open my oil filter with a pair of thin snips to investigate and found no metal shavings in there either. and also high Millage oils are thicker to compensate for larger clearances due to engine wear over time. and i run my oil until it starts to turn from a golden brown color usually around 5000-7000 KM depending on how i drive. i never leave it in there for 15000 KM but i have full confidence it would last. otherwise they wouldn't advertise it as suck and also Mobil 1 has a guarantee that if the oil fails and causes engine dammage within there specified Life span they will pay 100% of cost of repairs.
