cold air intake problem. need help quick


ive had a bit of an annoyance. i recently put in my cold air intake and im getting a p101 system too lean air. how do i fix this so that stupid check engine light stays off

check your mass airflow sensor.

you could have damaged it wile taking it off

im pretty sure i didnt damage anything and the only thing that was kinda scketchy about the install was im missing a bolt that all it does is help hold it to the fender. could that be whats causing this?

no, your maf sensor has to be cleaned or something cause its not reading correctly or you filter is on badly

Did you remove your positive cable from the battery before installing the CAI? If not remove for a half hour or longer replace and see if it clears.

Check for any loose gaskets or holes left around the rubber fittings. If everything's in their tight, either your computer just isn't used to it yet (i.e. it needs to be reset) or you roughed up your MAF during install.

sweet so i checked the intake and theres nothing damaged about it and i reset the battery got the light off now i just gotta wait and see if it comes back on

GL with that ...

if their are any holes after the MAF that aren't plugged it will throw a CEL

From what i have read BBk require a PCM tune on some Mustangs to prevent the car from starving its self of fuel after it is getting more air.

I dont wanna steal the thread but i just put my CAI in a few weeks ago. is it normal to hear a whistling sounds after i shift, it sounds cool but is it normal?
