if u drive in snow ur going to regret the shift kit especially with out a traction lock. it will be all over the place you can get the same effect of a ship kit by buying a tuner and just programing the pcm to boost tranny pressure. that way u can reduce it if you need to.

okay. the shift kit concept was just introduced to me, and its a whole new concept i am trying to learn about. ive been reading up on it, and people have said that using the shifter to upshift/downshift a lot hurts your tansmission, and others say that it wont do a thing. im just trying to find out whats what before i go buying something work 500 + dollars.

using the stock shifter wont hurt it shifting otherwise ford wouldn't have given u the ability, however not shifting at the right rpm will hurt it if u hang in the red line. also buying an after market shifter will give you better selection.

no getting an after market shifter will let you do that and still if u down shift from 4th to 2nd at 4500 rpm say bye bye tranny.
