recommended shift rpm to learn

A friend of mine is getting a 2007 V6 Mustang very soon.

What rpm would you recommend for learning. Also what are some numbers for being a bit more aggressive.

What about rpm's slowing down.

He's new to standard, and I only drive 13 or 18 speed large trucks.

welcome to the forums.

anywhere between 2.5 and 3k is fine.

5k for aggressive driving.

watch 3rd gear at high rpms.
the transmission doesn't like it

for very aggressive driving shift around 4500. But, yuo reach your powerband around 3k. So, dont shift until at least 4k

redline shifting isnt; good you want the nice flow through usually somewhere around 4k but depends on each gear i know second to first like the shift sooner and the higher gears 4-5 want you to shift redline otherwise you drop below the power band

but when you shift to the next gear that gear is now in the a higher power ban

example
you shift at 4500
drop to 3k

USUALLY the power curve and the goal you look for is AFTER the peak power ban you wana keep that as flat or uphill as possible

so if you peak at 4200rpms but to 5200rpms you instead of pushing say the peak 250rwhp your pushing 245rwhp at 5200rpms

when you shift you stay with closer toward peak and more power
rather then 3000rpms and say 220 or less rwhp
