System too lean (fail emissions)

i just had the egr sensor replaced a few months ago for haveing excessive flow and ford doesnt make the original sensor anymore its a new plastic one that suppose to better but i was told the service soon light would more than likely stay because of the part swap but i went in today for emissions and failed error code (p0171 system too lean) does anyone know exactly what this is or does it having anything to do with the newer part that was put in.

edit: i also have a cracked manifold i have yet to get fixed could that be the problem?

Get a new air filter, New plugs, Run some injector cleaner or get them professionally cleaned, New fuel filter and get an oil changed. If you have not already done this. If that does not solve your issues. its time for some new O2 sensors.

Check for a vacume leak after the MAF this can cause a system to lean because your getting un maffed air into the intake system. if that checks out replace the o2 sensors they range any where from 40-100 bux.

i figured that but am i wrong to assume that this is the fault of the emission station or is it possible that this problem could have just developed because i had two tweleves and an amp hooked up to my system.
