Another transmission question

Ok so I found a 96 aod tranny for 100 bucks. how hard is a tranny swap...also what do you guys think of buying a shift kit and having it installed before the replacement tranny goes in

I have heard nothing but good about the shift kit. So go for it. 100$ cant go wrong.

If you havent messed with anything in the tranny before. Have a pro do it.

Shift kit is a Valve body Modification requires drilling so i wouldn't recommend doing it ur self. Why are you buying a new tranny? and purring a shift kit on a used tranny could pose a problem since you don't know the history of it. Whats wrong with your tranny?

It leaks and possibly needs a new housing...wouldn't a shift kit on my tranny be the same idea though

U might just needa new seal if your tranny is leaking

if your getting a aod for 100 bucks rebuild it period, and a shift kit will help just have them rebuild it and hand them a b&m kit it is like 40 bucks, you have to crack open the housing and if you never worked on a tranny before u won't know where half the parts go.
