i dont know if this will sound stupid or not but i need to get a emission test and i was wondering how do they do this,do they do it the old fashion way , pop the hood and stick a thingy in the exhaust pipe, ordo they just plug in something to the car computer inside , i drive a 2000 mustang v6 , and another question , does having a cold air intake affects this , thanks for your help and ill bother no more

shit emissions are basically non existent here in louisiana.
they scan ur vin then check ur gas tank knob and bam, new inspection sticker.

oh and the basic shit like brakes and blinkers.
