whether or not the fan(s) spin. I've never seen a radiator go bad and only let your car overheat while stationary. What do you mean when you kick your engine up a little bit to 90ish? what's 90ish?

Having the lower thermostat in you should tune ur fan to come on at 180 now that will help. other wise you have a block in your cooling system and need a flush and fill and if that dont help then you have a bent valve or a warped head. that can cause over heating. I would suggest trying a colder plug, this will bring the temp down. maybe ur running plugs that are to hot.

If I understand this, you are saying the engine runs cool around town but heats up at speed on the road (90 mph?).

This means as in the previous posts that the fan is working OK, but you could have some flow restriction in the cooling system.

Perhaps you need a new water pump or the radiator is partially clogged.
Also be sure to bleed the air out of the cooling system.

Better get this sorted out soon or you will be redoing the head gasket job.

By the way, I don't see any advantage to a 180 degree thermostat compared to stock, since the thermostat is fully open when the engine is running above normal operating temperature.

running cool in town but heating up when hitting highway might be a sign or running plugs that are to hot. not passing the heat off from the combustion chamber to the cooling system fast enough or effectively.

strange.... at 90mph u could run at normal temp even with flow obstroction unles u have all ur car covered when running

could be damage sensor?

or water pump not working correctly making the flow slower than normal or a clog.

i dont know i think it could be a sensor WHO THE FUCK COULD RUN HOT AT 90MPH!!!

u can do it ur self but i suggest a pro does it if you really think you have a blockage because they have a machine that forces the old coolant out and this may free any obstruction /air in the system.
