Exaust guy?


He told me on my v6 could only have a y pipe put on because of catalatic converters? WTF? I want true dual

or buy a catted h pipe or x pipe or non-catted and then exhaust

i got mine custom done for $350
they threw some mufflers on...cut right after the cats and made custom pipes to the back
right before the axle they put the flows then 3inch chrome tips in back

Cut right before the cats....and get yourself some high-flow cats ...the stock cats on the Sixer ....suck big time ! ! !
According to the law a shop cannot cut off the cats without replacing them....do to emission :-( ....but you can get high-flow cats ...which will open it up a little and give you a beutiful sound

Carsound makes nice highflow cats

Tell them to cut it AFTER the cats, and run true duals....

Or give us the number to the exhaust shop, and we can call and tell them for you :p I'm sure somebody will do it ~

Okay I found a plce to do this the right way. Im having High flow cats installed and they are cutting after the cats. I have a choice between Flowmaster exhaust Or Vortech exhaust.

How does vortech sound? I have never even heard of it. I cant find a sound clip on it..

One thing i had a problem with. Was the guy kept downgrading my car because it was a v6. Hes like "You know it is not going to sound like a V8" I was like i am aware of that. BUt he also told me that a single pipe cherry bomb would sound just as good as dual.

you should basically punch that guy in the throat for ragging on your car, but definitely go with the flowmasters, my mufflers were ordered last week woot woot, i got the super 44's. i'll let yall know what it sounds like whenever i get em done. my muffler guy also told me that it would sound like a v6 on crack lol

is an exaust easy to bolt up or will i have to cut it before the cats. i want to get a pypes o/r x pipe with a pypes axelback setup would it be easy to do myself.

yeah when u drop your rear since its not a bolt on tail pipe catback^......so u have to either drop the back a bit to fit the pipes, cut them and re weld them, or just put turn downs and get that mean sound...or tips of the back for a little more hollow sound because of the tips...

on the install how do i remove the exaust before the cats and after the headers. i think after i bolt up the x-pipe i could manage to get the rest of the piping over the axel if it was jacked up a little.
