IMO this shit has been happening to my for awhile till i fixed.
I broke down and my g/f dad came and started working on it. He waited for it to cool down and pressure to dissipate, and he unscrews radiator lid, and pours water into it. i was pissed and he kept saying no this is right. i was about to hit him but it guess its all that he had. I ran like that for a couple days cause ima dumbass , but i flushed it again and put antifrezze in radiator and water bottle. works just fine again , either a clog or u dont have any in your radiator after its been over heating and its just gonna cont. to do until u put some into "bottle" and the radiator itself. Dont know if its completely fixed but its surely doest bleed half as much, if not at all now.

so either when you ran it with just water you didnt run it long enough for it to overheat or your problem was air pockets and when you put radiator fluid into the rad. you reintroduced air bubbles into the system causing the overheating problem again. add half water and half 50/50 antifreeze and go through the proper procedure of allowing all the air bubbles out of the system one more time.if you're certain you have done it right and you still see that the engine overheats then that pretty definitively sais its your head gasket.

so i don't get it i did plenty of work with my thermo and coolin system... how the hell do i know if all the bubbles are out of mine? i don't have any overheating problems or and odd behavior in the cooling of my car...
will these bubbles just work themselves out?

Replaced Thermostat Overheating
How old is the car?If regular water is used for a long time {A couple of years}
Calcium builds up in the radiator and clogs all the small tubes preventing water to ciculate.Look inside to see a hard white substance that would be that buildup.The solution if that is the case is to replace the radiator cause it cannot be removed..Then only use "Distilled Water" from then on and it will stay clean forever and you will never have a overheating problem from a clogged radiator again. |
