Replaced the thermostat but it's still over heating

Ok i posted a topic earlier about my mustang over heating and yall told me it was probably the thermostat. Well I replaced the thermostat today but she is still over heating. I see no leaks or holes in the radiator and the fan works so am i to assume that it's the water pump? or maybe the radiator is cloged?

if it was that u would notice it... a car with a blown head gasket can damage performance and u could be leaking or something if u have one. Check ur oil if u got coolant there it migth be but i doubt it..

but then who knows...

cloged radiator.

where did you buy the car? the normally come with a 30 day warranty regardless...

if not then i would go ahead and repalce the rad with a junkyard part and see if it helps. or you could take it to a shop and have it re-cored

It could be a blown head gasket if combustion gases are getting into the coolant it will overheat rapidly. Any shop could check for exhaust gases in the coolant to rule that out. A sure sign is if the oil gets coolant in it, but that doesn't always happen.

If the head gaskets are OK, i.e. no combustion gases in the coolant, you should check the radiator and water pump. If the impeller of the water pump has rusted away that could reduce flow or maybe you need a new radiator core.

Sadly I would check for a blown head gasket first. That might be why the previous owner sold it.

Check your oil does it appear foamy and orange on the dipstick and does it look watered down and overfull? and check ur coolant is there oil floating on top of it in the reservoir? if you have one of these conditions or both you have a head/intake gasket issue.

i didnt see any oil in the coolant and the oil looks fine (looks like it could use an oil change) I'm pretty sure it's the water pump becaues there is no water flow. I am going to just take it in and have the whole thing inspected... who knows what other little suprises i'll find.... That's what i get from buying from a little used car lot

take both hoses off and turn the car over and see if you get water flow. then i would replace the water pump, and get it from autozone (life time warenty)

Blah thats a shitty way to check for flow dude and messy. what u should do is run the car till its warmed up at least operation range temp. then place your hand on the upper rad hose, its the one that goes to the thermostat housing. and if its cool to the touch then there is no flow for 3 reasons. Blockage or air in the cooling system, bad water pump or bad Thermostat. remember this hose should be very hot! so if u can hold ur hand on it you have flow restriction or no flow.

I ran it until hot and the hose going to the thermostat housing was cold. My dad opened the radiator cap and water shot everywhere of course but the water wasnt hot
