alternator

alright so I think my alternator is shot...
My car doesn't wana start on its own, it "clicks" when I turn the ignition but it just doesn't go. I've had to get a boost to start it, even though it took a while for it to charge up enough so that it would start, it did eventually work.
This morning, I tried doing the same, let it charge up for probably 15 minutes using my dad's truck (also had a battery charger on it all night...), but it just wouldn't start.
Does it really take THAT long to charge it up? or is my battery completely dead too?

your battery is problably shot, the car should still run if the alternator was bad, so swap the battery and see what that does

hey guess what, turns out it was just my battery connections that were too dirty and I guess the current wasn't getting through lol I cleaned them and now it's all fine...
I thought they had been cleaned not too long ago but maybe I'm wrong =\

how often should that be done?

When ever they get dirty I usually scrub them down with a good mixture of baking soda.
