This worth doing to my 6er?

the car has only 159kilometeres, never winter drivin. new gas/break lines, tires, calbers(sp) and rotars, New breaks. She got a lil surface rust underneath. gonna get it sand blasted and rock guarded X3 coats underneath. is she worth puttin 6k into(New engine, rims, bodykit, shifter,ud pulleys, a tune, suspension, and 8.8 rear end) i payed 2000 for her. Canadian. but her kilometers are low and no body rust.

also shes going in a garage to get the frame checked.

It's all in what you think. You konw your car best...so only you can be the one that really determines whether or not it's worth it. on the flip side, you can sell your car after you clean it up and use the $6,000 plus what you get for your car towards a new 6er or new gt.

i would take the money you plan on putting into it to pay her off. then save up for mods. It's a nice feeling to have a piad off car. Not that I would know...I have an 06 and 4 years left of payments.

Sure why not? For 6k you should just do rims and performance

the only thing is if you go through all that don't forget to get a computer out of a 96 or 97 that way you will obd1 and all the proper workins for your engine and fuel setup...

i personally am going to keep my car till the wheels fall off... so i have no problem telling you to do it as long as you get your moneys worth out of it

I'd say pay it off and sell it. Go out and buy yourself a better platform to start on other than your current 6. Your looking to sink a lot of money into a car that will need a lot of work to ever truely be happy with it. Your talking body work and fixing rust on top of all the suspension, cosmetics, and performance. For the amount your going to sink into your 6 just throw yourself into more debt and pick up a 1999 GT or something with similar kilometers on the clock. I can almost guarantee that you could find a GT from that era for less than it is going to cost you to restore your old six cylinder to your liking. If you have a major love for the SN95 body, go for a GT in that era and find it even cheaper and then you'll have a ton of left over money for modifications. (Assuming your not out for cheap insurance I guess.) Shop around on your options before you leave a huge pile of money in your car. The best thing to do when putting your money into your vehicle is to have a plan and ask yourself will you be happy with where all your money went in a few years? Sometimes you can start modifying and in the end have no real goal or plan, and befor you know it your selling your car because your just not happy with it.

Pay it off a.s.a.p. and sell it is what I would do. That or save it for daily driving and buy yourself a project car in better shape to sink the cash into.

lol im workign away im clearing 2200 per week the car is being payed of b4 anything. X6months = 22,000 bucks but i need alot of that money to move out and go to school. this car is worth putting 6k into since the rust is only surface rust. the auto shop here says for 300 bucks he will remove all the surface rust and undercoat the car good. i want new suspension since she hits hard and if i have ppl in her she becomes a VERY low rider lmao. im getting most fo the parts off a 97gt. Tranny,Rear end. for like 300 bucks. god i love knowing ppl just hope he still has em when i gets home in Dec
