What next? (long read)

Alright, it's all been settled and my body kit is due to go on before mid-August as well as the dual exhaust...i was also looking into getting some lowering springs which shouldn't be a problem...rims will go on by about january or i may wait till summer since they're going on my dd...my question is, what performance mods should i go with since i'll have a couple hundred left over after this summer, probably about 300. Oh, and yes i'm basically going to be a sort of mustang ricer in a way since i'll be all show and no go, but i saw some opportunities that couldn't be passed up that will really save me money in the long run...

sorry for the long post, i like to ramble lol

Man, I wouldnt call you a "ricer" just because your making your car look bad ass. Your not putting a fart can on, your putting on duel exhaust!

After all that modding, take the 300 bucks and go on a road trip to show it off. Have you put a tune in yet??? That might be do-able for that kind of scratch.....

is a tune worth doing to a stock car, i thought that was mainly for when you do some light engine modding and stuff? and thanks, for once someone isn't harping on me for doing looks over performance, lol

IMO- If the cars looks like shit, who cares how fast it is. Cars are like art work to me and have to be "visually" appealing. Ya, someone will rip me for that but oh well right??

I think a tune is good anytime, even if its just stock. You'll get more out of your exhaust investment with a tune... even if only a little. Also, you can tune it to get better gas mileage too and that will help pay youself back some of the money you use to make it look great.

I'd consider doing some of that stuff if I had the $$ right now.

Think about it, most people just see your car. In the driveway, on the road passing by or whatever. I think its a serious priority to have it looking good. I guess its all just opinion. I havent put alot of money into visual mods but I wash the shit out of my car and keep the paint looking showroom because thats the best I can do to "respect" my investment. I'd love to mod it up a bit.

definately agree with you in every aspect, and i just realized you're the person who just painted your side scoops, which imo looks awesome even though it's just a small thing. but yea, i plan on doing performance, just not yet, i saw a good deal on the body kit i wanted, and my gf's brother will paint it for free as long as i display his work, and he's damn good at painting. so that, and i have access to a ford dealerships garage with a lift for the exhaust and lowering springs, so i figured i'd do it now. Besides, like you said, looks are important, especially to a high school student who typically has a shitty car and is lookin to catch a few eyes, lol.

my car's nothing special yet, and to most probably not a worthy investment, but it's a fixer and just something fun to work on and improve over the years...especially when i'm older and look back on it all and see what it looked like when i started...

nice- thats real clean man. No bumps and bruises. Ford did good with that color. You got a great palet to work on ...

I could see it dropped with a kit and some rims. Im a big fan of the stalker kit even though its an older one. Its not too much to look at. I'd like to get that one and slap it on. Thanks on the props with the side scoops...

Your way ahead of the game if your still in school. I didnt get my first car until I was 18 and it was a VW rabbit with plywood for floor boards. Maybe thats what makes me appreciate respecting the cars "looks".

are those silver reflective letter inserts on the bumper? Is it stock like that? I need to get those. It would match everything better than the black ones have.

to be honest i don't know if they came like that stock or not, i bought it used from some guy...but when i saw them they looked a lot like the stainless steel inserts i saw on americanmuscle.com. but yea, that color for your bumper letters would definately tie everything together

and in the sunlight they're very reflective, and look almost like a polished steel...the stainless steel letters on that site are only like 25 bucks, so maybe you should look into it...

being a ricer (imo) is not just having a car thats all show and no go, its about having an all show no go car that the dirver thinks has a lot of go. most of the stuff ive done is visual and not performance. but yeah as SSStang said, what body kit and what rims?

i really like the saleen kits, they're simple, but have a drag racing car look to them, along with the saleen rims, hopefully some 18x9's in front and 18x10's in the back...
