weird noise

i keep hearing this weird noise coming from my passenger side rear (96 v6)... i dont know where exactly it is coming from. it sounds kinda like a metal on metal noise.. kinda grinding but its not heavy or loud. it only does it when i turn the steering wheel left or sometimes when i let off the gas... i just had new exhaust put on and just put on new rims and tires.. i did a lil visual inspection just a few minutes ago and everything looked fine.. any ideas?

it may be the rear brakes. more specifically the shoes and/or the drums...have them checked out

i was thinking somethin to do with the brakes.. but when i turn the steering wheel left? like i could barelyt nudge it left and it makes the noise... that is what boggles my mind... that would have absolytely nothing to do with the brakes

i'm not sure about your year mustangs...but they could have what's called "floating" calipers. my 1995 oldsmobile achieva had it...and when my calipers stuck and i made a turn...once my brake pads were worn down enough, the indicator rubbed on the rotor. that may be your problem. but i'm not sure if your year used floating calipers

well i think i can rule out a bad bearing because if one went bad id hear grinding the whole time... to me it sounds like when the brake pads are bad and it grinds agains the rotor... but the pads look good. it did it today onle when i turned the steering wheel left, or hit a bump.. a friend of mine thinks it could be a joint or somethin... any more ideas?

I bet it's your exhaust.. Mine made a ton of noise when i first got it.. I took it back and they got rid of most of it.. But when i hit a bump it knocks. And when im in parking lots. turning it rattles.. ANNOYING

Noise

You said you had a new exhaust put on, maybe the exhaust pipe is touching the driveshaft when you turn?
