Anyone here doing 3.7 Swaps yet?

Just curious as to whether has anyone attempted to but a 3.7 engine and transmission in another mustang platform? Fox body perhaps?

Why not just do a v8 swap if you're going to go through all the trouble? It would probably be easier since it's been done countless times and there are tons of reference material out there for it

Idk...if I had to take a 6cyl out of a mustang, then you could bet your ass that a v8 would be going back in there!

I have not heard or seen one done yet..... I think it would be an awesome swap and one of a kind!! I always take an interest in something different that no one else has or done before. It will have more power than the orginal 5.0 that the foxes are known for and should knock down some nice MPG too. Plus a turbo on top of that powerplant = a very nice kick in the pants with a very light platform.

It's actually a 1989 LX 5.0L. I'm going from V8→V6. Might as well take advantage of the additional power of the 2011 motor (also an aluminum V6 block versus cast iron V8), and get good gas mileage.

From what I hear, the concept was somewhat popular in the 70's (fuel-crisis). People taking out their big blocks and running small blocks.

Yes, ONLY because I ran out of cash before I got to the heads. These are just iron heads with bigger valves and mild port work. A set of AFR's would put me into the 11's easy. With another cam and intake to go with the AFR's it would be low 11's.

It also can hang with 11 second cars up to the 1/8 mile. So yes, what I have for now is pretty decent...

Because the cost of the new 5.0 engine alone would cost 2x-3x the entire cost of the 3.8 swap I would guess
