I'll move this post if it's in the wrong section, but I was just curious about them. Howcome the vendors on eBay are selling some 3.8L CAIs for only 20.00 bucks or so, but others are going for 150+? Are they jipped or something, or are they the real deal?

they are the real deal. almost everyone on here as bought one off of there. they are not high prices becase they dont have a big name simply put

buy the CAI from ebay.. later if u want change the filter to a K&n... all cai r the same exept for the filter... if it bring a filter from holley ur ok (those filter looks like K&n exept they r blue).. oh and buy a fenderwell CAI..

ok you go buy a BBK intake priced at $170
i'll get my Ebay $40 after shipping intake

dyno and see who makes more power


the intakes are all simply a metal mandrel bent pipe with sensor holes and some clamps....it cost them maybe $10 for it...the filters are washable...i have one

NO regrets on it

whats so special about MAC or BBK? do those come with a stick and a name brand? i'll pass

filter is the most of it anyway
if anything get a 3-4inch K&N filter

K&N uses different material
look at it this way
spend $200 for 4hp if you see that
$40 for 3hp

and if you ever plan on going with a s/c or turbo...the $200 intake that got you 3hp is going to be thrown away or sold for less the half the price

yeah...that would be fine. but I would go out and get a K&N or BBK filter to replace the one it comes with, which would run about another 40 bucks or so.

blue=holley as i said above...
holley uses the same material as K&n...

so switching from holley to K&n is a waste cause they r the same

yea he was just saying that some of the ebay filters come with the BBK air filter and their color is blue like KN is red. he wasnt saying all of them were

I ordered that same ebay CAI a week ago. Put it on my self. BUt its missing 2 screws which hold the bottom of the metal plate in place.which isnt really nessasary... But my question is ,is it normal for my CAI to make a noise like a hurricane/sucking sound??.. MY dad heard it and was worried..lol i think its normal.

my dad also was worried when he heard mine lol he said it probably wasn't sealed and was leaking air. I'm not a genius or anything but I'm sure it's properly sealed. even my girlfriend was like insisting for me to bring it in to a shop and have them check it for me, jesus christ woman I wouldn't do something to my own car if I wasn't sure that I was doing it right.
