97 V6 missing on cyl 4,5,and 6

Working on a friends car from 50 miles away so I don't have a lot to go off here. It's a 97 3.8L that misses on cyl. 4,5,and 6. There are no codes coming up. It had a tune up about 6 months ago. It's not a constant miss. It doesn't overheat. My first thoughts are cam sensor and O2 sensor, but I'm not familiar with those motors or thier common problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

Wires or coil would cause a multiple cyl misfire either that or youve got the firing order mixed up on those cyl or possibly but i can see all 3 plugs being bad only on that side.

The plugs and wires were changed 6 months ago. The problem just started in the last few weeks. The coil has been replaced to try to fix it along with the crank sensor. But, I'm just going off what my friend is telling me and she's 50 miles away. I haven't even seen the car yet. Do those things have a cam sensor on both sides? or a seperate timing belt/chain for either side? I'm still leaning towards an O2 sensor or possibly a cam sensor...

It doesn't have any codes. I was told it's single overhead cam. That would make it have a cam on each head. I'm gonna go check it out as soon as I can, but I was just trying to get an idea of any common or likely issues.

No overheating. Not sure about the oil. I seems odd that it would be all plugs or wires going to just one side of the motor without something else causeing it. Plus it's pretty common but not constant. Ignition is usually under load everytime(from my experience)

it has to be your ignition

start cheap
change your plugs first....765 autolites MAKE SURE you plug in your wires in the right plugs per cylinder

if its still doing the same that car is old the wires are probably bad
get some wires
if its still then its the coil....replace your coil
make sure your firing order is correct

with an old car like that it could be either

while your at do a full tune up
fuel filter
PCV valve
aif filter
oil change
and evena radiator flush
and seafoam

none of that is related to your misfire just a good idea on an old car
