Stroke it baby.....

Well i got to lookin around at a few things the other night and stumbled across Mr Morana's site and i was hoping you guys could help me out in determining what and why someone would buy a few of these things...

the 4.0L stroker kit: mainly just purchased for it's forged internals?? but lighter and stronger internals get you set up for a nice FI application. partner that with a stage 2 power pak from SSMS and your pretty much ready for a turbo or supercharger set up?

thanks!

also, if i went with the 4.0L stroker, would machine work still be necessary?

damn sleepin bastards... ha ha ha. i know i don't want to go 4.2... just seems to much involved. but doing a lightweight forged internals 4.0 swap doesn't seem that bad....

just want to make sure i have all the info.

4.0 is kinda pointless....might as well just get forged internals for your 3.8

stage isnt the best application for a turbo or s/c set up
your better off getting stage 3 and depending on which application turbo or s/c it'll help you know which cam to get

i'm at 3.9 already, i figure if your going to re-do things why make a lateral move? at least some increase is some increase.... it'll depend on cost at the time, lightweight and forged and more displacement IMO is better than lightweight and forged the same.... that is unless going to 4.0 will require extra machining...

about going stage 2...everything is going to be coming in packs...in other words if i get stage 3, then it may be a period of time before i get FI.... so i want something i can run one without issues until i get there.

what are the effects of going stage 3 without FI? would it still be decently streetable?

none at all. more power lol

im pretty sure 4.0 piston wont fit with out a bore or stroked block to a 4.0...

how much money you got?
i know a SWEET deal lurking around that for under $2k you can get stage 3 heads and a vortech s/c
if it wasnt cause i was going turbo i'd take the deal
and if iwasnt cause i need the money for other shit for the turbo i'd take the heads in a heart beat

hmm...

then i'm confused why they only recomend the stage 2+ if you have a stall converter and stage 3 if your nitrous or FI...

also the stage 2 is about ohhh $800 less... ha ha

so who does the forged for the 3.9? everywhere i see only says 3.8. now granted i know most of the engine parts are the same between the 2, however when it comes to internals one is a 3.9 and one is a 3.8 for a reason...

i believe that you don't have to do any machine work dude... its just longer rods and a bigger crank

4.0 would be okay nothing to big or crazy but would take to a charger really well

omg chris = wrong!! no way!!

yea no its just different sized parts... you wont have to look into machining until you get up to 4.4 ish on the 3.8 block... or if your block is beat up then you can get it machined so that the compression will be way better
