Rebuilt Engine
My 3.8L engine was leaking oil and my dumbass forgot to fill it up again, so it overheated and I'm pretty sure the heads got bent because it started puking white smoke out the tail pipe. Can you guys help me out. Where can I find a used engine for cheap or some place I can take it rebuilt.

The steam out of the exhaust is of course a symptom of a blown head gasket. If it was also low on oil there may be other damage.
Some people on this forum recommend a rebuilder called Precision. Perhaps someone else will post a URL or perhaps Google "precision engines". |

OK. This is the URL. It looks like about $1300 exchange, which seems very reasonable. This is for a long block, i.e. complete engine with the heads installed.

so im confused... if you can get a brand new 4.2 for $2000, then why even bother stroking the one you have? it costs near that much just to do the stroke in parts, let alone labor if you can't do your own machine work..

i almost bought a stroker kit last year i think form tom morana..but i decide to paint my car instead. that 4.2L doesnt have forged internals i believe so its not as simple as buying the $2k engine and throwing a turbo on it at 20psi

stuff like scraps scratches and damage to the cylinder its self... as well as the rings frying and oil being caked on to internal parts and really just getting super grimmy...
if your engine is blown i would really consider giving precession a call... what they do is clean up your engine put new parts and give it back
