problem getting shifter out of park!

the other night i was at the light and i put the car in park just to lay back cuz i knew it was a long light, and then b4 the light turned green i went to bring it out of park and into drive and it wouldnt move, the button would press in. i tried all possible tricks. so any suggestions of wats wrong and wat to do would be appreciated. thank tom

check your brake lights .

if they are out the fuse is blown.

and YES if your fuse is blown your car won't shift out of P
