an engine cant really be a sleeper...its the way the car looks..
a car that looks stock but has A LOT of power is whats considered a sleeper.

yeah i guess you're right...but what i was getting at was when u tell people that u have a 6cyl they'll think of the 3.8l and think its a push over when in reality u have 60+ more hp and can probably smoke them... u get what i'm sayin??

the 4.2L swap will not be close to $500....you expect a new engine for $500...cylinder heads cost morethen that

your looking at 4.2L for $2k brand new nothing special done to it

hahaha....yeah i know right...it's almost a gt but cheaper!!

what i meant by the $500 is i'll do the swap for $500 instead of Onemanzu getting it done for $1000...the engine itself is $2k

I for one do not have a dad that can help me with everything... so im kinda on my own when it comes to cars... i have no tools no lifts or anything like that... it would almost cost me half that amount in money to get tools and such...

on top of that i have a huge fear of fucking up... soo i kinda see paying a grand to have it done right and set up and running 100% correctly so yea thats what im thinkin

and for the push rod thing... thats cool i didn't know that

Guys do not go with a 4.2L V6. There is some kind of problem with the cooling system on these engines that gives out after 100k miles. My F150 just hit 100k and I had to replace the front Gasket, Water Pump and a bunch of hoses for a problem that many many people have reported. It was like 1000.00 repair at 100k. A lot of the online sites that talk about this talk about completely blowing their engines at 100k. I got lucky. Not a good thing for someone who does all the regular maintenance. There was a recall on this on the 99/2000 F150 V6's but they haven't recalled it on mine. Numerous websites talk about this engine having problems so just keep this in mind if you are looking at the engine that is in the V6 F150. Mine is a 2001. I'll have my Mustang in a week or 2 and even my dad's comment was time to trade and get rid of that thing.

thats odd... the thing is... most of the 4.2's that people on here talk about are more rebuilding their 3.8 with a longer rod and stroke... hats all so its the same block and such

oh

lol i dont read how to books lol
the only thing i read a lil on was the springs i installed...very easy btw

but motor swaps really arent to too hard is you have a engine lift..
if you dont have an engine lift i would not recomend anyone to try it lol
lifting the engine with a bunch of people wont help either

some stuff i just kinda wing it
like when i had an exhaust leak(passenger side header)
i just took out wat was in my way, and un-bolted the manifold and replaced it with a new one($150!!)

same with UD pulleys and intake
turbo install will be along the same lines
