Question About Headers

Hey everybody. As an introduction, I want to state that I know close to nothing about car SPECIFICS. I know a few things here and there, the bare minimum. And just so you know, I do use the search button. In fact, I have been surfing these forums for a long time, but hadn't registered until now.

Moving on.

My reason for starting this new topic was because I know each car will sound and perform differently depending on what the car is, and what has been done to it. My car is a stock V6, except with this specific Magnaflow Exhaust

So finally, what Headers should I invest in? From what I have read on here, Long tube's will be the best, specifically MAC's? Will there be noticeable gains? Any suggestions are appreciated, and if I have any "stupid questions," try to be nice :p

Thank you all for your time.

The LT's will give your car a deeper sound, and around a 5-10 HP gain I think? I'm not sure on that, but LT's are a big plus with any exhaust system.

they give you a way better sound and up to 15 horse power depending on the year car you have...

the other thing that you might have run across is the subject of true duals ...

what true duals are ... is two continuous pipes running from the headers all the way out the rear of the car... or where ever you decided to end it...

the thing is you currently have a y pipe which isn't bad but not the best for power or sound... you can get the long tubes from mac... and take your set up to a local shop and have an X pipe installed where the two y's are and make it work from their... if your lost ill draw you a pretty picture

you should get rid of your Y pipe for an H or X pipe if iwere you id opt for a off road x pipe. pretty much you have 2pipes(headers) leading to 1pipe(Ypipe) then splits to 2pipes. changeing that y pipe will give you tru dual tone and power depending on weather you want long tubes or short tube headers that will anticipate the size of the x or h pipe. long tubes will give you better tone and power.

Thanks a lot everybody. So I will look into long tubes, with an off-road X pipe. With the X pipe and LT's, how much money SHOULD that be? I don't want to get ripped off, I have had a hard summer financially just paying my car off, lol. Oh, and do X-Pipes have specific brands that I should look for?

... what i would do personally is look into getting long tubes from either mac... or if you can find him... crazy legs on this very site... he might be able to cut you a small deal...

from their i would take my car to a exhaust shop and see if they can put an x pipe in their and make it work with your system...

I would like a little more muscle of a sound, thanks. On lmperformance.com there were headers for v6's, long tubes, for like 313 or something. Is that a good price?

Has anyone here dealt with these guys before, there wasn't a report on Better Business Bureau. I've been careful with internet shops ever since I got owned by ProCarParts.com .

i havent heard of anything bad with lmperformance but with every company your going to get some bad feedback on them. i was gonna get my LTs from them as soon as i felt like taking the time to install them. i think thats a pretty good price

$313.00 is about as cheap as you're going to get ceramic coated LT's. But as OMZ said, try hitting up CrazyLegs. He may be able to get you an awesome deal on some LTs.
