vi kept the 7.5 its very strong every one just pump up the 8.8 and makes you think the 7.5 is flimsy. u know if your threw a 7.5 with a ford racing traction lock on a GT i bet it would be just fine.

+1 the concept of the swap is easy the measurements, setting preload to the bearings and pinion and setting back lash is a pain in the rumpsky then you hgave to assemble it and check your wear pattern and if its retarded then u have to disassemble and start all over

yes i reinstalled my old carrier to check the ring gear run out cuz i for got to check it and now its stuck. the pinion shaft is dry seized on the pinion/spider gear on the bottom of the carrier it was hard to get the pinion shaft out the first time now its stuck i spend the better part of yesterday pounding the shit out of it and it will not break free. im at a loss guys im stuck..... tonight im grabbing a 2 jaw bearing puller see if i can press the pinion shaft out of the carrier so i can remove the rear axles again. this is so gay
