fuel filter
I want to change my fuel filter. Is the standard Fram filter OK to use or is there a better alternative? What kinds of things can go wrong? I want to make sure to anticipate any issues.
Thanks in advance for advice or pointers....

Im just going to change it Iusing the Haynes. I just have to be real carefull. Im by myself down here with one car so I cant take anything for granted. If I cant get the filter back on or I have any unseen issues, theres no way for me to get help or parts. A tow someplace would kill me! I seen the tool for $5. I know I need that. Is there anything else? Do you know of anyone that has tried it and had any problems that I could watch out for? You know, like a horror story or something? |

it's not that bad.
just hit your button in the trunk (fuel cut off) and start your car and let it run until it dies. keep a rag handy anyway because you will still get a little gas coming out of it.

ive done it twice...i forgot the first time about the tool
i was down there for 3 hours...my arms got dead tired tryin to pull the thing apart then finally my dad comes home and says i need the tool...took me 2seconds watch out when you get it apart...gas will leak. you'll wana kinda plug it with your hand. i have the part # for motorcraft if you need it. its not hard...jack the car up. right in front of the gas tank the fuel filter. un-do the strap kinda thing its got holding it in place. get the tool. and pull them apart and swap the new one in. then put the filter back in to its lil holder and strap it back the way it was

actually the second time i changed my oil...while i was removing the oil filter and i spun it off fast...and it dropped and oil went everywhere, all over my face, some in my mouth and my clothes.... pretty embarrasing even though no one was around.
