Replacing exhaust manifolds with headers, need help!
So my exhaust manifolds on my 2001 v6 are cracked, pretty badly. I decided to go ahead and replace them with shorty/unequal headers.
I'm on a tight budget, so from looking around, I saw that the MAC short/unequal headers are the cheapest I can get. I may be wrong, and if so direct me to something else please. Otherwise, whats the best/reliable place to buy the headers? Once I get them, I was planning on saving on shop costs by attempting to install them myself with two friends of mine. I saw that there is a pretty detailed guide on installing long tubes, but I need a guide on just replacing stock manifolds with direct replacement shortys. Is it doable? Is there a guide anywhere? Thanks for all the help! |

If you got the shorty headers, generally it is a simple matter of unbolt your factory manifolds and install the shorties...
Factory exhaust manifolds are basically shorty headers.... And I believe the MAC ones are the least expensive out there, but then someone else might have a link to a site that possibly can beat them. |

got like $80 more you can get more power and a better sound.
shorties are like BSif i were you i'd re-think your header choice. shorties are only good IMO if you wana custom build your own turbo and invert those and make pipes off them, to the turbine etc.. theres a very thin line between wasting your money and buying short tube headers |
