4.2 website

What is the best website for the 4.2 package? I'm not into that stuff and I'm asking for a friend.

I always buy my engines from Precision. You get better quality, service and price with them verses SSMS. I have tried to order from SSMS in the past, and i was not a good experience. Precision would be the best bet.

Well, I had one customers whos 98 v6 I built up claim that his dyno'd at 390 (give or take). That's the most powerful v6 that i've ever worked on though. I mainly deal with Gt's and Cobras. I can try and get in touch with him when I get a free moment. It's been about a year since I did his car. I'm sure that I can find some v6 pics around the shop for you. You got to give me a few days though...making the $$$ is top priority. I havent worked on a V6 mustang in probably 10 months or so. But, when one comes in for a complete re-vamp, ill take some pics throughout the whole process for you guys.

What exactly are you looking for? And how much do you have to spend? I can get you pretty nice discounts on a great variety of products.

... here is my goal... now i sent KB an email... but they said it would take 2-3 days... that was a week ago... so some intern over their is probably just laughing his ass off and deleting e mails...

my goal is to build a 4.2 with forged internals and slap a big bore 2.1 on top... now the thing is i have no money... so i am building up my car for a new engine and right now i am going to do exhaust then gears... and the shop i am working with seems nice and all... but it has a very red neck feel about it and i was wondering if you knew of any good shops...

also does this plan sound all good and sound? or like crazy ass hell but once done very respectable or what?

well, you are going to need money. lol. Let me tell you something. This is the honest truth. The shops that have the redneck feel to them are going to be the most honest and do the best work verses big well known shops. Like my shop, its about as redneck as they come. But, that's why the shop does about 220k in profit a year. If your honest, customers come back. If you dont cheat, they come back. If you dont screw them, they come back. If you fuck up and admit it, they come back. If the second that they enter the shop, you make them feel like family, they come back. Thats why i've been in business for 23. I started doing it in my parents back yard when I was 18, and 23 years later, at the grand old age of 41, im still doing it. Because I have that "redneck" feel to it. Hell, just about every customer COMPLIMENTS me on that. So, I would go with them if I were you.

98 v6 dyno'd at 390 to what?
If its rear wheel is it blown or on nitrous?

And Omn: throw a 2.8L kb on it

im thinking that if a KB is more then half of what your engine is... then their might be something wrong with the equation...

i am trying to get in touch with them... but they are totally not even responding... oh well

I dont think anything smaller than that will fit on the current bracket for the v6 unless you make your own

I phrased that incorrectly. From what I remember, the owner called me and said that consecutive RWHP was like 390 (give or take. I dont remember the true number). Obviously the 98 mustang is rear wheel drive, lol. It was a built up 4.2 with an intercooled P-1SC running 15psi. 4.56 gears with positraction (t-lok) in a 9inch rear end. 65mm throttle body. 5.0 exhaust conversion with empty cats and flowmaster super 40's. SCT handheld tuner. I know he was talking about nitrous, but I didn't install it. I don't touch the shit. Half of my shop went up in flames about 10 years ago becuase of some moron that worked for me. Insurance said I couldnt deal with it anymore. I dont believe that those number that he gave me were with nitrous though.

No, not at all. That puts it right there around 390-400. Maybe if he got it custom tuned, then yea. But, not on the preloaded tunes that come with the SCT.
