When to clean CAI filter?

When do i clean it?.. I just put it in about 3weeks ago.

i clean mine when i see is xtremly ugly and dirty.. thats like 20-25k miles for me since the sahara desert dust its fucking P.R this year

You can wait pretty long on most. I take a shop vac to mine every so often when I see all the Florida sand building in it. Its to hard to take off all the time. I think they say 30k miles but thats dumb to me. How can they tell the environment I drive in? I can clean it one day and it looks nasty the next if Im by the beach.

Id say clean it if your getting symptoms or if it looks bad. I dont think you can over clean them.

I have 43,298 on my S&B CAI and still getting same gas mileage when put in at 500 miles. I plan to change mine out at 50,000 even though S&B says 100,000 for cleaning and re-install. I will just buy another replacement filter for $30.00.. For me, washing and drying my filter and then applying to little or to much oil, is to long a process for my patience. The factory will make 30.00 bucks off me and do it again at 100,000 miles.

clean it every other day, or every other time you change your oil. rub some ky-jelly on it your engine will be happy

i clean mine when i feel like it lol ive had it for like 10months i think and ive cleaned it 7-8 times
within i'd say 12,000 miles or less

I have a BBK CAI.... can I clean it using the K&N cleaning kit or do I clean it differently?

Alright... i'll look into buying the cleaning kit. I always thought you just rinse it out in throw it back in...lol.
