someone from my church rear ended into my drivers door .. pictures will be up tomorrow . should i report to insurance or just let her pay me in cash .

i ended up having to drop $600 the last time i "trusted" someone to pay for it out of their pocket.

people don't realize what it costs to fix things and then when you tell them they baulk at it and leave you holding the bag.

one day i went out to the parking lot & someone had hit the back of my car (hard) & left. that one came out of my pocket.

definitly report the accident i didnt report when my sunfire got crushed by my brothers girls drunken alcoholic father and it took me 4 months to see the money was a pain in my ass.

i had the person who rear ended me in my dads honda fix it... actually her dad was a mechanic odd enough so thats how mine was taken care of

write out a contract with the person declairing that they did in fact hit your car (include date of accident and details), and include that the person is going to pay out of pocket instead of getting the insurance company involved etc. and have the person sign it...that way if they never pay you you can take the signed contract to the police and get it payed for one way or the other...and with the contract if they take you to court over it, you'll win hands down...this way you can be nice to her without possibly screwing yourself over

the smartest thing to do is get a police report so she cant screw you and then take the cash on the side......

i like d-brow's idea, but cant something like that end up bad if she doesnt pay you. is it illegal if you do not report? i dont know but thats what i thought. so if she does not pay you, and you take her to court, can the court nail you for trying to do everything under the table and not reporting? info would be nice, im interested if what i think is true.

dont worry... I created a thread awhile back about my girlifriend's sister's boyfriend backing into my car.. then saying its my fault cause he backed into it.. and werent going to give me his policy number so I could report it..

Ended up having to call a trooper to create a report after a huge domestic arguement in the yard.. so yea I was pretty much forced to report it that way..

well i wasnt in the car when it got hit . and also she came and found me and told me so if she even had the decency to that i dont think shell run away

Good luck, but I will say that you should always get a police report. She can still pay you cash even if you have a police report. It just covers your a$$.
