$1000 to spend....
So i have about $1000 to spend on my car and am looking to get the most power i can for the money. I DONT WANT TO RUN NITROUS AND DONT PLAN ON FORCED INDUCTION. I already have gears, exhaust, and a tune. Im thinking about new heads or a cam, or possibly both???? Im looking for around 50 more horsepower if possible and like i said i have no plans of any nitrous or super/turbochargers. From what ive been told swapping heads arent that hard of a job to perform by yourself, is this true?

sssms sells stage 2 heads for $1000 even with the old core i believe
those are idea for a n/a set up like you plan on you could get pulleys, a cam and a tune would add about 40hp depending on the dyno tune you get and a nice exhuast sound. also some ported upper and lower intakes wouldnt be to bad an idea, $750 from SSMS or you can find a shop to do it for like $500 maybe and your heads can be ported as well for probably $1000 including the intakes should see 50hp about from that then follow up with a cam and a tune.

So you think i could get heads and lower and upper intakes ported for $1000?? Would that be the best use of my money? After spending $1000 it will be a long time before i get more money to spend on the car.

I was looking at morana racing and is the stage 3 worth 250 more than the stage 2 because it appears that the only difference is it goes from a 3 angle valve job to 5, does this really make that big of a difference? Also a completely different question, but cut i put in a 4.2 crank without changing anything else, or would i need new pistons, rods, etc...? IF i could change just the crank what kind of power would it give me?
