Brake question?

okay i just had brand new expensive brake pads put on,And had my rotors turned. But i am starting to notice when i let off my brakes they make a grinding noise. like im going 40mph i slow down to 0mph at red light when slowly let off they make a grinding type noise. But if i just pull my foot off the brake peddle it doesnt do it. only when i ease off the brakes.

you only need to turn them if its time to i had to replace all of my rotors cause they were messed up big time. i think if you take them to auto zone or something like that they can turn them for you. i just had to replace my whole brake setup. i was carless for a week and had to pay around 500 for everything and i put them on myself. also a push rod came out and broke on my back left brake so it was always in the braking position and everything was rusted beyond belief and dont know why

semi metalic pads squeak a lot even new..try buying some brake cleaner and spraying it on there ..maybe just som dirt or something stuck in there..

probably the most frequent question asked at my work that we dont do (advanced auto parts)
and if we sell tires...

you can get front pads for about $25-$60 at an auto store for the front and a lil cheaper in the back

ceramic will be about $40+

rotors new are i think like $40 a piece

as for your grinding. did you clean everything with brake cleaner before you put it on...brake lube is a good idea too

mine make the same sound, there is nothing wrong.... it's normal....

do this and you'll understand....

take a sheet of paper, and rub it against your desk....picture that being you "SLOWLY" taking your foot off the brakes, the car is trying to move and the brakes are BARELY holding on, so it makes a noise as the brake slips...

now to simulate you just immediatly taking your foot off the brake, take that same sheet of paper and lift it off the desk.... no noise...
