Stalling!


When in park my car idles 100% and the same goes for neutral. now when I put it into drive or the low gears it will tend to run like shit or stall. I changed the fuel filter and I though it worked at first, but nothing . Now my transmission is pretty beat. I can feel and hear it down shifting really hard.

I'm loosing it. I'm ganna take it to my mechanic. If it's fixable then for a cheap price then I'm ganna get it fixed and after just ditch my bottle... cause my transmission has had it. btw the trans was messed up a little before the bottle so it's not the laughing gasses fault.

Ahh lol I changed it drove it around the block and it was running like a champ so I parked it for the day. Stayed out that night, came back to go wash her and She was running fine then I turned the ac on and it was running like shit... so I road with the ac off. But it just got worse and worse tull it was stall time.

tc? idk If my mechanic says new tranny that could be more of a relief. Most I would do is get a tranny, throw a shift kit in while I'm down there.

I had been driving mine at around 70 miles an hour for about an hour on my way to Philadelphia the other night. I got there, turned on the AC, and was doing some minor driving like around a parking lot, and it was bogging down like mad. I assumed it was just because I was running it a little harder than usual on the highway, and then turning on the AC, because it hasn't acted like that since.

Well heres an update. I works fine at night. Theres a temperature change in Florida from day to night but it ain't much.

when did you last tamper with your oil?

change it and the filter and see how that does??

My oil is all ways changed on time... and I checked it like a trillion times, its nice and clean. I could drink it!

dirty/burnt tranny fluid causing the torque converter to stick when its trying to lock and unlock this will cause what your experiencing when it gets worse every time u put it in drive it will stall or when u come to a stop it will stall. your tranny is most likely overheating too cuz of old bad fluid.

then you have a converter issue or a heat issue. give it a few days the tranny fluid will burn. also is it at the correct level it needs to be checked when cold and engine running in park or neutral and should be at the top of the cold cross hatch.... its useless to check mercon V when its hot cuz it will always look full this is straight from the ford tranny specialist i know. 95% of tranny issues are fluid related.

Well, as far as I can gather... this has been narrowed down to a tranny or torque converter problem... which is actually good news lol. let me go check it.
