Vert top wont move at all.

My 2001 verts top wont go down or up, doesnt make any noises when you press the switch. I literally just tried disconnecting the top motors electrical cables and tried to see if i could get it to work by jumping them from the car battery. Still nothing. Is it possily that the motor is so far gone that it wont even make noises anymore?

Btw, my jump method was to hook the pos and neg of one side of the cables on the battery like usual and then hook the neg of the other side to the engine block and the pos onto the top "lowering" cable on the convertible motor.
