K&Ns FIPK system claims to be short ram. I have the over priced piece of shit. Your so much better off pulling from the fenderwell... less maintenance and easier to clean. You just get too much hot engine air in a mustang for a short ram. Maybe the idea works better in a smaller cooler engine IDK.

Get a Cryo2 kit for a million bucks er whatever and maybe it would make the short ram better.

mach 1s have only a partially functioning ram air. the mach 1 gets more air out of the fender more so than the scoop. with a short ram air, you've got a filter coming straight out of the TB and than you've got the hood which flows all the outside air into the filter. bottom line, short ram is waaay more efficient at cooling and getting the air into the engine faster and at a slighlty higher pressure. with the cai, it's pulling air out of the fenderwell which still isn't technically outside air (which is always cooler), and the air has more distance to travel to reach the TB so you lose some air pressure going into the TB

it'd be $50 of wasted money...(that's a nice tank of gas in my eyes)

cai don't really do anything for V6's.... they might for V8's, but for the sixers, even the cheap ass $30 ones they used to have on ebay would do just as good as a $300 BBK or K&N
