V6 engine swap

Hello everyone im new to the forum I have a question that someone might be able to help me out with, I have a 1995 mustang with around 180k miles on it. It still runs amazingly smooth but i have made a decision to make this my little project car. My question is an engine swap what year engines are compatible with mine I know that the 94 and 95 are the same but is it possible to take an engine from a 96-98 or 99-04 yrs. If this is a stupid question please dont flame me im a newb

yeah it'll probably fit but if ur lookin to put a new engine in there... for like $2k u can get a brand new 4.2L engine that has 250bhp and 260 trq... its a v6 too and will most likely fit... your car will be just as fast if not faster than a 99-04 stock gt.. thats what i'm doin when i get back from the middle east! and it'll probably match up w/ ur trans too!

stock 99-04 GT comes with 260fhp and the trq is better then 260 i would assume surely....and 250bhp are you refering rwhp ? at the rear wheels..."bhp back horse power" because that would roughly be 285fhp....which i dont think it is....unless its really packing some internal work

What does it take to put an engine like that in? are you able to use the 3.8 tranny?

02PP I don't know too much about the engine but they say its better than the gt engine... that's what i've been told..its basically the same engine thats in the f-150 engine.. but i'm not exactly sure if that rear wheel hp and tq.. i haven't read into too much!!

but yeah it'll fit w/ the 3.8 trans.... but you have to realize that the trans u have in there now has 180k miles on it and w/ the added power it might not hold!! just keep that in mind even w/ the new 3.8l engine!! how good of shape is the car in.. any sticky points when the car is shiftin gears and stuff.. hows ur rear feel..

4.2L nothign done just stroked makes 250BHP b standing for BASE which is like flywheel power

4.2L with heads, intakes ported and polished, a cam, some internal work and bolt ons will make 250-265rwhp

i believe SSMS made 263 rwhp

Whats 250bhp translate to in rwhp?

Because the f150 only makes 202bhp? so how do you get 250?

fuckin shit thats cheap
but i bet the forged internals and depending on what rods and pistons are desired is what'll make the engine cost a shit ton more
