Well....

I know SSMS uses it for better nitrous distribution.

But I've always wondered if it would help with a stock motor!

I asked about a P&P Windstar intake and they pointed out that the Windstar intake is plastic. They mentioned that an F150 intake could be P&P though. I think that would be awesome.

Is it able to put too much air into an engine? Meaning- could a P&P F150 upper intake be too much? Also, if you did this, would you need a different throttle body and a different CAI?

Well,

SSM's sheet metal upper is 'too much intake" for a non blown setup so... I guess its possible

the f150 intake is just going to be bigger and provide a bit more power you might be able to find an intake in a junk yard for cheap is this is the case then you can port and polish it your self with a dremel tool or something

its not to much are you joking ? the more air the better....what do u think a blower does ? takes in more air forcing it down...but its more air....having a nice upper intake will allow more air just wont be forced....and with more air equals tuning either way....plus define "blown setup" either way your getting a lot of air with the same intake...just one forces...so if its to much for motor then its to much for a blower....saying to much wouldnt make much sense

so i suppose a supercharger on a stock intake would make you lose hp cuz your forcing to much air in right

In his defense, he may have been talking about the fact that if you force too much air into the engine without a proper tune it's going to run like bagged ass.

Your talking about forcing air in above atmospheric pressure, whole different concept.

Well,

I know in the case of the SSX sheet metal upper on an n/a setup you see a CONSIDERABLE loss in low end tq and throttle response.

I didnt think about the question in refrence to a s/c, but I was asking bacause too much air could choke the engine. You guys are right, I just wasnt thinking.
