4.0L muffler

What is the inlet/outlet size of a 2007 4.0L. I want a nice clean sound NOT too loud but a little more deeper sounds than what I have on my stock muffler. I am going to be doing the entire exhaust system next summer but for the remainder of this summer I wanna hear a little more "controlled" sound when I whip around the corners. What is a good muffler for this stang? I know the flowmasters are really well marketed and I have a set of my 2002 and they are loud but I don't want loud on this one. What do you guys recommend for just a muffler? Anyone else who has a 4.0 please share your thoughts on what you did for an entire exhaust system to give me ideas. Thanks in advance

Well see its hard to explain, I want the car to sound a little louder than it is right now and I don't want to wake the neighbors at the same time. I have dual original 40's on my 2002 but I want the whole sleeper car look on this one. Therefore I don't want a muffler that will give me tons of sound every time I punch it but a muffler that allows me to hear the motor better if that makes any sense. Right now I feel that its a little too quiet for my liking? So I just wanted to put a different muffler on it and see if that changes anything but which one...flowmasters delta 44's? I just wanna see what other 4.0L owners have done.

I have a '05 4.0. I bought a magnaflo exhaust. It is a dual exhaust with the mufflers comming down by the trunk well. They are shaped like glass packs. It has a european sound, or at least thats what i have been told. I think it sounds like a ferrari. I work for Advance Auto parts so I bought it through the store with a decent discount. I also just bought a tuner and wow what a difference that makes!

to answer your question it is 2.50 inlet/outlet. If you dont want to be too loud and its not loud enough right now i say dont bother changing the muffler. Anything you buy will make your car louder
