Do I Need A Tune?

I heard that when you mod you should get tuned to register everything with the computer before u notice a difference, is this true? and if it is what is the difference between a tuner like sniper or SCT, and a dyno tune? Thanks guys

Yes that is true.

I personally run the Diablosport Predator tuner. The SCT is also a proven unit. The Sniper seems like an interesting piece, but I haven't learned enough about it nor seen anyone I know that has one to be able to give you an honest opinion on that unit.

personally i recommend getting a 2-3 bolt ons at once then a tuner to tune everything up or just full bolt ons and a dyno tune

Yep exactly. Check out www.brenspeed.com & www.bamachips.com for tuners & custom tunes.

I'm not as familiar with the 6ers, but from everything I have read, yes, if you have the proper mods with quality parts, and get a good tune, you will notice a difference not only in acceleration, but your fuel economy will improve.

If you order a tuner & tunes from either of those two places I mentioned above, all you will have to do is follow the basic instructions that come with the tuner to load up the tunes. I'm not sure if the 04 car is vastly different from mine, but with mine it's a simple matter of uploading the factory tune in to the tuner for storage, so you can always restore it if needed, and then downloading the performance tune in to your car's PCM by following the prompts on the tuner's screen.

Tuner:
- you would notice gains with no mods and a tuner (seriously)

Mods:
- Like chris said, get a few solid mods then grab a tuner to tie it together.

Dyno:
- This is like the ghod of tunes, but you only really need one if your running some nice nitrous setup & a cammed built motor.

Tuners:
- I'll recommend sct, and im probably sure 65-80% of mustang owners will also agree.

Yes. It's an excellent unit, used by many on this board.
