Fuel Rail leakage....

yeah.....you know how on the passenger side of the car the fuel rail has this little valve that looks like a tire valve where you would like insert air into the tire? im starting to see like nasty gooey secretion around it....im assuming it gas leaking out of it but what should i do about it? unplug the fuel pump, depressurize the fuel rail then try and tighten it? or no? any input guys? thanks

I believe the fitting you are speaking of (without a photo) is there in order to hook a Fuel Pressure guage into the system for diagnosis when you go into a shop. It is similar in appearance to a tire valve, but it is not the same.

To be honest, I am not sure if the core can be changed like a tire valve core. You could check with the dealer on that, and if it can be changed, do what you had previously stated and depressurize the system, and change it out. I would also highly recommend getting the cap that goes over that valve when not in use in order to keep dirt/gunk out of it.
