So I Talked To A Guy
today about my car at a supposed performance shop and he said if i run over 7-9 psi with an inter cooled procharger i would 4sure blow my engine... and i didnt believe him because iv hear on the site that i should be able to run 11psi with no problem... so whose wrong in this situation? me or him? can i run 11 psi with stock internals??

yes first post... your engine wont blow up but it will definitely quit on you after a couple of hundred miles ... you can run 4-6 or 7 psi for a couple of thousands of miles....

whoa! i cant run 5psi without it hurting me a long time down the road?! i mean i knew it would hurt after like 50,000 or so but 2,000! ?

ya but can i bump it up at times to 11? like when i go race?

Well seeing as hows its a supercharger you cant really just turn a knob and make it be 11psi for racing. you have to swap pulleys.. not to mention its really not a good idea to run that much. just stick with 7-8psi with stock internals and be happy otherwise go forged and up the boost

damn... ya i know all i gota do is swap the pulley but i could of sworn someone told me i would b fine w 11psi... ok well thanks guys i guess u answered my question lol... its just not what i wanted to hear lol... so 7-9 psi it is...

you can go 11psi on stock internals and last for like 5kmiles i'd say depending how hard you drive it and the tune...these engines are pretty tough.
i would go 7ish to be safe though...but if you have plans on a engine later but soon go with 9 or 11 or get the 4.2L first. how many miles does your car have?

that true.. some cars can take the 11 other will blow at 7 with a safe dyno tune i think you'll be good for a while with 11..

theirs something wrong with that... 9.5 hours? where in iowa are you i know their is one here in lincoln and its 13 hours to get to cedar point ohio from lincoln

to be on the safe side i say go with 15 psi that way when you get your new motor... it will be sooner then later
