Somebody Please Explain

I asked a question "How long would my engine last with a Supercharger with forged internals" i received the answer 100k

So lets say i had a Shelby GT500 or bought a car with a factory S/C then that car would only last 100k miles? i dont understand . or is it cause i have a 6er that it would only last that long?

You cant kill a gt-500 in 1min, unless you wreck it or spray a 500shot

No seriously:
a gt500 has stock forged internals ... same way cobras and supras can take almost anything....

Your v6 does not, forged internals and you can run 16psi all day and night.. just ask 97nointercooler... i mean tuned!

no no no... most cars are usually frowned on after 100k ... something about that number = high milage...

any more 75k is high milage...

any car under any amount of boost as long as it is REASONABLE key word... will last as long as it is treated well... if you never change the oil ... then shit 15k might be a stretch... if you change the oil with synthetic every 3k on the dot... then it might last till 200k or more... i would also like you to note that their is a plus sign after 100k... meaning that it can go 100k plus more...

turbos and s.c's don't really break down as easily as an engine does... you have to stay on top of them change the oil and such... but yea... if you really wanted to you could transfer one...

I'm sure 97tuned's car will last a good 100k miles if not more... as long as he maintains it.

His tranny and rear end will prob go before his motor.

forged internals ftw!

KB makes one of the best SC ? or . so what do i exactly need to run this ?

Forged pistons . crankshaft? cam?

and what do i need to do to keep it in maintenance ? yeah i had my 6er for a year and ran only 2700+ miles on it . still didnt get a oil change .

couple more questions .
do i have to use 5w20? or can i push 5w30 ?
i would also require a tuner if i got the S/C right?

one more thing. if i spent the money from buying a S/C and got a v8 with a manual transmission better investment? cause id run 300+ hp on both anyways? and my engine would live longer correct?

+1.. it seems like you are saying you will get another car after your mustang hits 100k no matter what when all you have to do is buy a new engine or rebuild your current one when it goes out.. it will be alot cheaper than getting a whole new car and it will be almost as good as new
