it would need a custom drive shaft .. new holes for motor mounts .. and that's probably it.

Im at least hoping the heads arent damaged and its only the bottom end. So im now thinking about getting a 4.2 out of a wrecked F150. Im wondering what year to get (i have a 99 mustang). Im thinking that id use the pistons and all the bottom end out of the F150 and jujst put my heads, cam and intake on it. What else would i need to make this work????? I DO NOT HAVE MONEY TO BUY A BRAND NEW ENGINE SO PLEASE DO NOT SUGGEST THAT.
Sorry to hear what happened. It sounds to me like a valve timing issue, that a piston hit an open valve. You should check the cam timing first.

As to the damage. If that was what happened, you probably have one or more bent valves and at least one destroyed piston/rod assembly.

It is good practice to turn the engine a few revolutions by hand before starting it up to check for piston to valve interference.

I would recommend using the stock engine. You will need to remove it and disassemble it to see exactly how bad it is. If there is extensive damage you may want to start with a new core.

you can get the block from an f150
or if you wana be safe
buy a short block from rpm, ssms, tom morana...

then put back on your cam, heads, intakes, and waterpump, power sterring everything else
