Engine Swap


Hey, ive got an 88 4cyl mustang that i want to drop my 02 v6 into. would this be garage swap possible?

a 5.0 would be an easier swap but a six would fit

how would the electronics match up? would the sensors and everything be alright?

for the 4 cylinder to 6 swap??

in 88 the electronics used were minimal... in 02 that thing was as wired as an ipod...

you would need a new wiring harness and new transmission... a lil rear end work and some engine bay work

well ive got the engine, tranny, ecu, harness, and an 8.8 with 3.55's in the rear

everything is from the original v6 stang...
will this stuff work?

yea whats wrong with the original? do you have it readily available? was it wrecked or something??

i would tell you to get your hands on the rest of the car... that way if you need something like the K member or a small bolt its their for you

nothings wrong with any of it...
got it from a friend who dropped in an 8 and stripped it down for racing..
haha

i guess i just got lucky

yea you did... that swap should be okay... you should not have problems with the steering or K member... hopefully the car your about to work on isn't your daily driver... it might be in your garage for a month
