Where is the BRAKE LIGHT RELAY SWITCH on a 2000 Mustang????

Hi Everyone,

The brake lights and the shifter knob on my husband's 2000 Mustang are not working. The car will NOT shift out of park for anything, but the knob will shift just fine in drive, reverse, neutral, etc. I've done some homework, checked the fuses, and they're all okay. I'd like to change the brake light relay switch as I was told this could very well be the problem, but I don't know where it is...

If anyone could tell me where the brake light relay switch is on a 2000 V6 Mustang I would really appreciate it. I'm hoping to have this problem fixed by tomorrow.

Thank you in advance!

its located on the backside of the break pedal its a momentary throw switch, not a relay and this controls the break lights and the break to shift from park safety mechanism.

PS if your break lights come on when u depress the pedal the switch IS NOT your problem your probably looking at a stretched parking cable and or bent park pin cuz some body has slammed it into park before the car stopped moving.
