4-5 bolts hold the trany in place--remove them after you disconnect the drive shaft. Make sure back of the engine is supported . Unbolt the rear transmission mount and remove transmission. Need to take the shifting lever off. 8-9 bolts and remove the bell housing after you disconnect the clutch assembly. 6-bolts on the pressure plate--remove and the clutch disc will fall out... The bearing is on the transmission sleve...

i think mines messed up too..every time i let it out i hear a click sound...i so when i upgrade my clutch it should go away with a new throwout bearing if thats what is making the noise...which im sure it is..because when the trans was out i saw a metal ring bent...so it didnt engage disengage with the bent lip catching making a noise

Car ramps could be used. I prefer jack stands. For safety you should have a hard surface such as a concrete driveway or garage floor to work on.

A transmission jack would be very helpful and can be rented.

Basically you need to support the back of the engine with a jack and the transmission with a trans jack. Unbolt everything and pull the transmission back.

I would say it is easier than the head gasket job.

Unless you are very short of money it would be better to replace the clutch as well as the t/o bearing.
