spark plug wires

i called napa and had them order me some new spark plug wires. so i went down there gave them my year of car and i figured what the hell might as well get new plugs and a new cap. well when i got home i went to put my plugs and wires on i noticed mine dosnt have the same kind of cap as the one i just ordered. so the guy didnt no what to do because his computer said that cap should fit on a 94. so i had to wait 4 30 min until those idiots found that my 94 had a 95 system in it and on a 95 they dont the same kind of system. can some one tell me why my 94 would have a different kind of system on it.

I would have assumed that 94 and 95 would be the same... shows what I know.

Maybe at the end of 94 Ford went ahead and put on 95 parts? I know Ford did a swap halfway between the build of the 2000 Mustang 3.8L to swap a new crank pulley/harmonic balancer design, so something similar with your setup could occur...

this sort of stuff happens all the time. This was a running change for those year models, all depends on the build date. More than likely, they installed the 94 stuff until they ran out and then started using the 95 stuff.

I'm pretty they changed it into the new design around September.

Yes Just like my 95 is OBD II but it was not mandated until 96 that all vehicles have that, and some 95's are still OBD 1
