Oh, and I would say that the 3.8 is a good engine as well. Why? It has an EXCELLENT power-per-dollar ratio.

I don't care if Honda makes a care if Honda's K20 motors make more power with less displacement... the engines also cost SEVERAL times more to buy, maintain, etc.

What the 3.8 lacks in specific output, it makes up for in value or bang-for-the-buck, imo.
the 3.8 is a good engin, also i am not talking a bout honda engins. i am a big gm guy (and not afraind to admit it) but looking at some of the v6's that they make, the power that they put out just makes 190hp froma v6 look sad.
the one that showes this the most is there new derect inject v6, 304 hp ant the crank na.

Well, yeah, there are more powerful (and MUCH more expensive) V6's made by other companies, but how much power did the 3.8L Camaro make? 10hp?

If you're comparing apples to apples, the 3.8L Ford is a good engine.

Yeah, if you're talking straight power or power/liter, it's not impressive, but back in 99-04 when they were new, what V6 could you get for as little as $13k BRAND NEW that ran mid-15's and made 190hp/220tq?

Not many

true, however, the one thing that realy pisess me off about ford, is how they made the windstar better, and kept improving apon it.

say you just change your pistons to a higher compression piston.. what kind of results do you think you would achieve?? it looks like the only difference between a 95 and a 96 is 8.2 changed to 9.0 compression to add 10 horsepower. any thoughts?

What about the 3.9L's in 2004? Where do they sit here?

off the top of my head the 2000 eclipse gt's and gts's had over 200 horses, not sure about the torque, my brother bought his 2000 gt in 2003 for 10 grand and he pulls on me haha.. i like my v6 though i got mine for 4500 so I'll take my deal, not that much slower! and half the miles.

My point was that you could get a NEW '99-04 V6 Mustang for $13k. Yeah, your brother got an Eclipse GT for $10k, but it was 3-4 years old.
