So its time for my first oil change

yupp its been a full year and im getting my first oil change =P .

gonna get royal purple . but wondering on my manual it saids SAE 5w20 but on the oil cover it saids SAE 5w30 . so wondering which one it is or does it matter? also gonna use k&n oil filter . damn this is pricy..

use the search, i kno we've had this talk before sometime....

i use 10w30 in the summer, and 5w20 in the winter....i think thas right...

how many miles are you waitin to change it if your going by fords 7500 then you actually hurting your engine or it will in the long run i go with every 3000 miles or three months because i here that if you wait longer then that then the oil starts breaking down too waitin a full year is not good imo sry i cant help you with the numbers i think the smaller the thicker maybe i dunno

also think of it this way too if you use synthetic right now when the engine is brand new then you gonna have to use synthetic for the rest of the engines life because theres no goin back to fossil after that something about a special coating on the block from synthetic plus i think most synthetics are for older cars with more miles even though you might be able so save some scarring on the block and normal wear by using synthetic who knows

the 10w is the detergent they use in the oil lower the number the quicker the break down and the 30 i believe is the wieght i use 10w30 in the summer when its hot and muggy outside

i dunno if it's the thicker stuff you might wanna go with that since you don't drive that much and it might be better protection over an extended period but don't listen to me i'm no expert
