5th gear grind on 5 speed

02 3.8L
all other gears shift smooth as hell (5th does at low rpms)
about 3300+ rpms when i shift to 5th it grinds as its going into gear.
its not hard to get in gear i just makes this grind sound and you can feel it on the shifter well
its been doing this since the day i bought it

you have the clutch buried when you shift right?

The clutch is self adjusting on these cars and its cable clutch. if it only grinds on 5th then your syncro for that gear is going. time for a rebuild.

yes, a rebuild if it was a clutching issue the tranny would grind on all gears. the syncro is going on 5th u need a rebuild.

G-force can fully rebuild your tranny stronger then a GT's for round 2k with shipping and everything

yeah but for 2g's might as well buy a new one.

but a new one can't perform as well as a G-force... plus they have a redone OD that is way lower then stock...
